First Aid Courses For The Workplace
3 days – 18 hours – 3 year nationally recognised certificate
The First Aid at Work course (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained first aider for their workplace.
This course is available as a ProTrainings CPD certified qualification.
All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.
- Industry Body for First Aid Training – ProTrainings First Aid at Work
This course must be at least 18 contact hours and run over a minimum of 3 day and the certificate is valid for 3 years. To renew you need to attend a 12 contact hour 2 day FAW requalification course. The FAW course must be delivered as a 100% classroom course and cannot be delivered via online or blended training to comply with the HSE requirements.
The HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course and our FAW refresher meets this requirement.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that there is no requirement for a fully trained first aider for their workplace.
This course is available as a ProTrainings CPD certified qualification.
All courses are delivered; evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.
- Industry Body for First Aid Training – ProTrainings Emergency First Aid at Work
This course must be at least 6 contact hours and run over a minimum of 1 day and the certificate is valid for 3 years.
To renew you need to attend another EFAW 6 hour course. This course must be delivered as a 100% classroom course and cannot be delivered via online or blended training to comply with the HSE requirements.
The HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course and our First Aid at Work annual refresher meets this requirement.

The First Aid at Work refresher course is for anyone who wishes to fulfil the strong recommendations by the HSE (first aid regulations 1981) that all first aiders in a business should annually refresh their first aid skills. This regulation is valid for every sector in and out of the workplace.
Please note that if you need to renew your First Aid at Work Certificate (expiry over 3 years ago) you will need to complete the 3 day 18 hour FAW course to meet HSE requirements.

Healthcare Anaphylaxis is aimed at healthcare professionals who require a more advanced course in Anaphylaxis care. The course covers all the same as our standard course with the addition of the special considerations that healthcare professionals face. The course is based on the recommendations for Anaphylaxis care as laid down by the UK Resuscitation Council.
The course covers the use of Epi-Pens, Jext and Enerade as well as recognition of signs, treatment, concerns and activating the EMS as well as care for the patient. We have a 100% classroom course for this and the certificate is valid for one year. To renew complete the same course again.

This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in AED use. Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. They are easy to use with a little training and make a real difference in the chance of survival to someone in cardiac arrest. If you have already completed any other first aid course, you will understand the importance of prompt use of an AED making this an ideal next course to take to develop your skills.

First Aid Courses For Paediatric Settings
2 days – 12 hours – 3 year nationally recognised certificate
This course meets and exceeds the requirements laid down by Ofsted, EYFS and SureStart for people needing a 2 day 12 contact hour first aid course for Adult, infant and child. This group includes childminders and carers. The HSE recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher. MDD First Aid Paediatric courses are approved by most councils across the UK.
‘From the 1st September 2014 the Level 2 Paediatric qualification will change to a Level 3, this change will be made nationally and be adopted by all Awarding Organisations. The contact hours remain the same (12 hours) but the guided learning hours have been increased to 22, these additional hours can be met using manual downloads and continued online learning videos available to all MDD registered candidates.’

Basic First Aid is aimed where training is needed but HSE compliance is not required. This course covers a variety of first aid subjects including primary and some secondary skills and can be tailored to your needs, making it a flexible course for all.
This course does not cover workplace training so if required the EFAW, FAW and Appointed Persons courses would be better suited.

The purpose of this Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding in the provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and of the safe use and management of an Automated External Defibrillator. This qualification offers the trained provider the opportunity to provide effective emergency lifesaving first aid care using an AED. This is achieved through the understanding of the BLS/AED algorithm and the responsibilities and treatment principles of AED use.
This is ideal for nurses, care workers or medical professionals needing annual updates to complete professional membership.
AED training is also included in the course. Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. 3 Hour Course – Valid for 3 years
Safeguarding Adults is delivered over one three-hour session. The course aims are to promote awareness of what constitutes abuse and neglect, promote understanding of the different types of abuse and neglect, promote understanding of what makes individuals vulnerable, promote understanding of what disclosure and whistleblowing are, and detail legislation relevant to Safeguarding of Adults. By the end of this session, candidates will be able to identify types of abuse, identify when abuse has happened/is happening, understand how to report and record issues that may be witnessed or disclosed, and understand how to help prevent abuse and neglect.
